Urban Tribes Live @ Bangkok Jazz.....
For those who came to our show, thanks for your support! We had fun and hope you guys enjoy your self too!
We did record both nights performance, which I will unload it asap and if you want you can download it...
Its been a while since our last gig at Bangkok Jazz, but with our new drummer come on board, we are now some how different, thanks to Martin Ngim, one of the Best drummer in KL, and... the Hottest now...(If you notice every one try to get him to play... I know even lots of girls want to....)
We kick of with a tune call "People make the world go round" which is a version did by Marcus Muller & his band, a bit like reggae groove.... then we did "Hold on" by RH Factor with Ina Fabregas on Vocals.... well, in this song I(Eddie) am the lead vocal during the verse... if you have any comment just let me know. ha... continue the 1st set with two instrumental which is "Before Word Spoken" & "Day Trippy"(Our version of Day Tripper by The Beatles)
"Before Word Spoken" is a great composition by our master pianist Justin Lim, a lay back groove, chill melody which we have practice like 3 days ago. man, you got to listen to this song, is so "Justin".... like who he is , cool, chill, sensitive, simple..... then come another side of Justin with his arrangement of "Day Trippy", a total away from the happy sounding grove and chords, we did it like a Rock, Heavy, crazy in 7/4 time signature.... with Ken Chung's Open solo approach + some oriental flavor... ha... end with a big drum solo in 7/4... which is very hard, great job Martin!
We play another 2 songs with Ina to complete our 1s set which the first song "How I Know" & "Forget Regret", both from RH Factor....
will write about the 2nd set later when I have more time...... thats all for now...
